September is rapidly disappearing and October is just round the corner, you can feel the chill in the air already.
We have our first of many fundraising events this weekend (23rd Sept) with “Call My Bluff at Grange Park School”, see club programme for more details. It is a great fun evening and you will be amazed at the different meanings for word and the ability of the panel to lure you into believing them and their fabrications. Don’t forget to bring your own drink and nibbles and I look forward to seeing lots of you there.
There is also a possible curry lunch for October, details to be confirmed, so spice up your life and come for lunch!!
I know I mentioned a barn dance last month but we feel the weather is little cool at the moment so the spring would be a better time, warmer for one thing.
In November we will be at the Malling Lights as usual with our delicious mulled wine and a fabulous Christmas cake to raffle…must remember to make it!! Do come and have a drink with us it will warm you up nicely.
We had a very interesting and informative talk from Charles Tassell last month showing us the way in which RABI charity helps all those within the agriculture industry both young and old with care and discreet financial help, truly inspiring.
29th September, we look forward to Sue Viner’s talk about her charity work and travels in Patagonia, do come.
31st October (Halloween) we have Lynn Flower from the Kent Bat group coming to talk to us.
We have donated to shelterbox.org this month after seeing the terrible situation with the devastation caused by the hurricanes and are looking to fund a project with Slideaway, a local charity who help families with bereavement, a very worthwhile cause.
This is the beauty of Rotary; we are able to help those who need it.
We are a great team of people who all want to serve the community and have fun doing it. So if you think you have time to help come and join us you won’t regret it.
